World Sight Day Campaign: Give the Gift of Vision to Palestinian Children

In honor of World Sight Day, American Charities for Palestine is proud to launch our first fundraising campaign for children’s eye care in Palestine! American Charities for Palestine is working with our partner, St. John’s Eye Hospital, which is the leading provider of charitable eye care to Palestinians throughout the West Bank and Gaza.

The Problem: Hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children need preventive and curative eye care every year. Because 59 percent of families with children live below the poverty line, many children with visual impairments cannot afford the treatment they need. Children with untreated visual impairments are often hidden away at home due to stigma and do not attend school.

The Solution: Fortunately, 80 percent of children with visual impairments in Palestine can be cured, often through simple, low-cost interventions.

American Charities for Palestine aims to raise $10,000 for children’s eye care before the end of the year. Since a generous donor has agreed to pay for all administrative and credit card transaction fees, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of your online donation will go to St. John’s Eye Hospital to provide preventive and curative eye care for Palestinian children.

Will you help us reach our goal?

$25 can pay for a child’s eye exam

$100 can provide a child who lost an eye with an artificial eye

$250 can cure a child’s congenital cataracts

$500 can pay for a child’s lens implant surgery
